Empty waiting room! Are the doctors and nurses doing any work?

Some patients have remarked at how quiet the waiting room appears to be since the pandemic.

We can assure you that this is not because we are not busy!

In February 2024 the surgery provided 2041 telephone appointments and 4760 face to face appointments.

It is true that since the pandemic there has been a shift towards the increased use of telephone appointments, but this shift has been motivated by a need to find ways of managing the high demand on our service as well as improving access to patients, such as the working age population, who were finding it especially difficult to secure an appointment under the old system.

Please rest assured, although your initial contact with a doctor may be a telephone appointment, if you need a face-to-face assessment this will be arranged directly with the doctor.
